Why?

Dear fellow readers,

It has been over a month since my last post. I have been posting in another place - specifically here. Sorry for my long absence, but between the holidays and coming back to school, it has been busy.

So I was going to post about all the amazing food I have been making this semester. Root Vegetable stew, cabbage soup, a planned chicken noodle soup...but I think that all these pale in comparison to the many thing that have been bothering me a lot lately.

First, read this article.

I am so freaking tired of the way ridiculous right-wing conservatives take things out of fucking context. It is frustrating to read newsclip after newsclip of hate. I was raised in this world of hate, and I thought coming to DC would help me get away from it all, but it just follows.

I mean who thinks this is ok:

The report also inadvertently offered ammunition for many antigay groups, including the conservative Concerned Women for America, which issued a release on Wednesday citing the “sexual deviancy” of gay men as leading to AIDS, syphilis and gonorrhea.

“The medical community has known for years that homosexual conduct, especially among males, creates a breeding ground for often deadly disease,” the release read.

To make matters worse, the upcoming election seems to not even care. I am so tired of all this squabbling over healthcare, Iraq, etc. Can't we just agree that:
a) war = bad
b) healthcare = good
c) environment = necessary, and
d) people desire to make their own life choices?

I am not saying that there are simple solutions to these problems, but I think we can all agree they are problems. I think that is the main reason I no longer care about politics - we spend so much time fighting over what the problems are that we never solve them.

Fuck this shit - I am moving to Canada.

Love,
Chris
